to the retiring SSRA Airgun Secretary and newly elected SSRA Vice-President - Robert Knott (pictured right).

At the Staffordshire Smallbore Rifle Association's Annual General Meeting held at Rugeley Rifle Club on 22nd March 2015, a long serving and loyal member of the SSRA Committee officially retired after many years of dedicated service to the sport of Airgun Shooting.

Robert 'Bob' Knott had served as the SSRA Airgun Secretary from 1991 up until 2015. Bob's many duties included organising the Inter-County Airgun Teams for Staffordshire - in both air pistol and air rifle disciplines.

This was in addition to organising the SSRA Airgun Individual Summer and Winter Competitions for air rifle and air pistol.

Both the Inter-County Competitions, and the SSRA Individual Competitions, have over the years served up a mountain of happy memories for Bob. The biggest pleasure always came from seeing good young shooters developing into even better older shooters, at Inter-County level as well as at club level.

Each and every competitor who has participated in the various shooting competitions organised by Bob, would no doubt like to thank Bob - and the SSRA - for giving them the opportunity to develop their shooting skills.

All connected with the SSRA would like to thank Bob for his hard work and dedication in firmly establishing the Airgun Section as an important and integral part of the SSRA.

In recognition of Bob's service to the SSRA, and in addition to the above award, the role of Staffordshire Smallbore Rifle Association Vice-President was afforded to Bob.

The baton of SSRA Airgun Secretary has now been passed on to Robert Lloyd.
